Railway bowls

Wednesday, 26 February we had 22 players for social bowls.
Winners were Pauline Currey and Ray Griffith winning 17+10.
Runners-up were Dave Littlewood and John Corcoran winning 16+4.

Marble 1 came out and the Margins were 4, 4, 7, 10 and 18.
The jackpot this week is a CRAZY $780.
The final round of the Parkes Services Club Power Play Pairs was on Thursday, 27 February.
Weekly winners were High Rollers, Rhinos and Low Rollers.
This leaving the Rhinos on top on 45 points and collecting the $600 first prize pool, ahead of High Rollers on 41 points.

Saturday, 1 March we had 6 players for social bowls.
Winners were Rob Hill, Junior Thorne and John Chew winning 17+12.
Club championships
In the Major Pairs we had Frank Van Opynen and Michael Hackett take on Steve Clegg and Mick Dunn.
Cleggy and Dunny led 10-1 after 8 ends and 15-5 after 10.
Cleggy and Dunny led 19-9 after 17 ends and went on to win the game 26-10.
In the Minor Singles Toby Tanks played George Greenhalgh. George led 4 nil after 3 ends and 7-4 after 7 ends.
Toby gets it back to 7 all after 9 ends and takes the lead 20-8 after 17 ends.
Toby leads 22-10 after 20 ends and 24-14 after 24 ends. Toby goes on to win the game 25-19.
In more Minor Singles action Frank Van Opynen played Neil Stronach.
Frank led 10-4 after 6 ends. Stretch got to back to 10 all after 8 ends and led 16-13 after 13 ends.
Frank led 23-16 after 18 ends and went on to win the game 25-23.
In the Club Fours Dawn Parker, Ash Kirwan, Pauline Currey and Nev Kirwan played Cody Hando, Mick Dunn, John Corcoran and Blake Strudwick.
It’s 3 all after 2 and 5 all after 4 ends. It’s 9 all after 9 ends.
Team Strudwick takes the lead 15-9 after 11 ends and 17-12 after 14 ends.
Team Strudwick go on to win the game 26-15.
Open Gender Pennants
Grade 4 got up 8-2 to Condobolin.
Grade 6.1 got up 9-1 over Mudgee.
Grade 6.2 went down 8-2 to Trangie.
Grade 7 got up 8-2 over Condobolin.
This week we have Grade 4 hosting Manildra, Grade 6.1 away to West Dubbo, Grade 6.2 hosting Dubbo City and Grade 7 away to Manildra.
This week we have Social Bowls on Wednesday, 5 March at 1pm and social bowls on Saturday, 8 March at 1pm.
As always names in half an hour before start times, everyone is welcome and quality new loan bowls are available at the club.
For those interested in having a roll of bowls, please note the following.
Social bowls means anyone and everyone is welcome to come have a game.
If it’s your first time this is where you start.
Just come to the club on the desired day at least 45 minutes prior to the advertised start times and see one of our dedicated volunteers and we will assist with getting you sorted and some bowls and point you in the right direction.
Social bowls is competitive without being too serious. Players generally use this time as practice.
We have some experienced bowlers that are always happy to play with and help new learning bowlers.
We have our Thursday Evening Barefoot Twilight Bowls going now, that is a great way to start and learn the game.

Quickshine Punters Club
The Punters Club has been rolling along well and the results are put on the board as they happen.
Money can be placed in the tin on the bar at any point along the way. Giddy up.
In the Club on Friday, 7 March we have happy hour 5-7pm, meat tray raffles, badge draw ($500), joker draw ($3050) and the bistro serving up their amazing meals from 6pm.
