Twenty-two smiling faces hit the greens for social bowls on Wednesday 11th December.
Winners were Greg Howlett and Robbie Hill winning 16+13.
Runners-up were Jake Brown, Bruce Jones and Bob Freeman winning 14+9.
Third place went to Mike Valentine and P. Cowling winning 14+4. Marble 3 came out and the Margins were 2, 4, 9, 11 & 13. The Jackpot today is $571.

The Parkes Service Club Power Play Pairs was on Thursday 12th December.
Round 5 winners were Rhinos over the High Rollers 4-1.
Weakest Link defeated Short Notice 5 nil and Low Rollers defeated SUC 5 nil. we now have equal leaders in Low Rollers and Rhinos on 19 points with High Rollers 3rd on 16 points.
Saturday 14th December was the Henry Kross Squash Fundraiser.
We had 22 bowlers on the day. Winners were Round 1.
Myra Townsend and Greg Howlett +7.
Round 2 Henry Kross and Geoff Leonard +8. Overall winner Paul Lewin 2 wins +7.
Overall Runner-up Jay Kross 2 wins +5.
This was a great day with around $800 raised to help Henry get to Britain.
We would like to thank everyone involved for their help.
Janelle for cooking the barbecue and the bar staff for keeping us all refreshed, not to mention our amazing greens staff that always have our greens perfect. Good Luck Henry!
Club Championships
In the Club Triples we saw Robbie Hill, Joey Van Opynen and Jake Brown play Ash Kirwan, Pauline Currey and Nev Kirwan.
Team Brown got a 6 on the first end.
Team Kirwan settle in with some singles before picking up a 5 to take the lead 8-7 after 6 ends.
Then it’s 13 all after 11 ends, 14 all after 13 ends.
Team Brown step it up and lead 22-16 after 18 ends and 25-19 after 21 ends and go on to win 28-20.
In the Club Fours we had Myra Townsend, Peter White, Alan Curteis and Tony Latter play Col Boehm, Terry Hetherington, Wal Austin and Mick Furney.
Team Latts led 4 nil after 3 ends. Team Furney hit their straps and got out to a 9-5 lead after 10 ends.
Team Latts grab a 6. Team Furney extended their lead to 15-11 after 16 ends before going on to win the game 21-14.
Phil Barnard Painting
Barn is once again spray painting his personal it all over the greens with his always popular Christmas Bowls Day on this Saturday 21st December.
Lots of laughs, beers, fun, prizes and Hams on offer for the lucky winners but everyone will go home smiling as is tradition on Barns Day!

The Parkes Services Club’s Power Play Pairs will break now until mid January.
As always names in half an hour before start times, everyone is welcome and quality new loan bowls are available at the club.
For those interested in having a roll at bowls, please note the following.
Social bowls means anyone and everyone is welcome to come have a game.
If it’s your first time this is where you start.
Just come to the club on the desired day at least 45 minutes prior to the advertised start times and see one of our dedicated volunteers and we will assist with getting you sorted and some bowls and point you in the right direction.
Social bowls is competitive without being too serious.
Players general use this time as practice.
We have some experienced bowlers that are always happy to play with and help new learning bowlers.
We have our Thursday Evening Barefoot Twilight Bowls going now, that is a great way to start and learn the game.

In the Club on Friday 20th December we have Happy Hour 5-7pm, Christmas Ham Raffles, Meat Tray Raffles, Badge Draw ($100.00), Joker Draw ($2,650), the Bistro serving up their amazing meals from 6pm and the Parkes Ford and Kia Free Monthly Mega Draw will be on this Friday with Christmas Holidays the following week.
