Our AGM is coming up on Sunday, July 7, which means now is the time to start thinking if you have what it takes to serve on the Committee and help keep things running. It's not that common for up-and-coming artists to get the opportunity to perform live with a real live backing band and while our band members are not paid professionals their dedication to Country music and the generous offer of their time at monthly musters allows us to offer that opportunity. However, without a running committee none of this could be achieved.

At Parkes, and I suspect many other local country music Associations/clubs we rely heavily on the Committee to organize functions for everyone's entertainment using their network to help contact artists willing to freely perform in the featured spot. We're ever so grateful to those who perform for us.
As it is now, door takings and the running of competitions during the afternoon/evening all go towards upkeep (upgrade, replacement and repairs) of equipment used and of course keeping all equipment covered by insurance.
Our Committee offers a vareity of roles and various committees which assist with publicity, artist coordinators and a General Committee which assist at functions.
As we endeavor to encourage a younger audience and artist participation, and perhaps younger Committee members with a fresh outlook on where Country Music is heading we invite you to attend our AGM on Sunday, July 7 at 11am in the Upstairs Meeting Room at the Parkes Services Club. All members and interested persons welcome.
