Show returns to Trundle

Show season is kicking off around the region with Trundle gearing up for the annual Trundle Show on Tuesday, August 13 and Wednesday, August 14.

Trundle Show President Heather Earney said the show schedule is about to go to print and will be available soon, however the events are pretty much the traditional Ag Shows format, but they are aiming to put on more entertainment for kids young and old.

They will have face painting, Inflatables, a mechanical bull, bungee run sumo suits and a jumping castle. There will also be a farm animal nursery on site this year.

The Trundle Show will also be hosting the Young Woman Competition, Junior Show Person Competition - which is open to high school aged children.

A new competition to the Trundle Show this year will be a Tiny Tots Competition - which will be split into two aged groups - preschool aged and primary school aged.

Ms Earney said they will be accepting nominations for the Young Woman Competition up until the Show day.

The official opening of the Trundle Show and presentation of the Young Woman Competition will be held at 2:30pm.

As of the time when the Parkes Champion Post went to print, the Trundle Show won't be running the Rural Achiever Program.

When published, show schedules will be able to be found at local stores and online.

On the competition side, Ms Earney said they will have the horse, sheep, cattle, poultry and wool competitions, as well as the yard dog competition on the Monday.

The Trundle Show will also feature the return of all of the pavilion competitions. Pavilion entries have to be submitted before August 14, as all of the judging happens by 9am.

Entries in the poultry competitions have to be submitted by the Friday before the show.

At this stage, Ms Earney said they will not have a shearing challenge as they do not have enough volunteers to run it this year.

If people want to volunteer to help run the shearing challenge, Ms Earney said they should get in touch with her.
