Rocking and strolling in the Elvis Festival Street Parade part 1

There's always dozens of entries of walkers in the Parkes Elvis Festival Street Parade and every year they continue to captivate us with their creativity and stunning outfits.

While the Easy Come Easy Go theme was a tricky one this year, we were thrilled to see some sea-themed floats and walkers in the form of sailors, divers, boats and even a clown fish from the reef.

Of course without fail, many Elvii, priscillas, 70s chicks, rock 'n roll dancers and more always make an appearance, and it wouldn't be the iconic parade it is without them.

With so many involved it's hard to capture them all but we do our best, here is part 1 of the walking entrants in the parade.

The glorious, and a touch warm, weather made it possible for the parade to run successfully for the hour and a half on Saturday morning, and for the Cooke Park events to continue until the storm arrived just after 3pm.

The rain washed out the remainder of the afternoon and forced organisers to cancel all events and shows on the Main Stage for the rest of the night due to safety concerns regarding wet surfaces.

Stay tuned there are many more photo galleries from the parade to come.
