Parkes Country Womens Association was formed on 4 April 1924, and 100 years later is still a vibrant active group supporting women in the Parkes community.
In 2010 the Parkes group changed their meeting time to better support women who worked full time through the week, and the group continues to meet on the third Wednesday of each month in the Board Room at Parkes Services Club.
The newly elected Parkes CWA Committee were welcomed to their roles:
President Julie Macaulay, Vice President Marilyn Pizzaro, Secretary Ann Olson and Treasurer Virginia Rice.
NSW State CWA President Jan Kerr from Canowindra welcomed the large crowd of over 100 people to the High Tea and spoke briefly about the continuing role of the CWA in communities across NSW which has a state membership of over 8000.
